Welcome Ms. Maeve Brady to McGraw High School as the new Junior-High English Teacher. Ms. Brady grew up in Fayetteville, NY, with parents who are both English educators. She will be making the move to the area with her fiancé, a professional musician who has played locally with the Cortland Repertory Theater and SUNY Cortland.
Ms. Brady earned an undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College in English and Film Studies and a master’s degree in Adolescent English Education from SUNY Cortland. She says, “I completed my student teaching and spent several months as an English long-term substitute at Moravia High School. Even before deciding I wanted to teach, though, I was in education--I worked at the National Braille Press, collaborating with school districts to provide Braille class materials for visually impaired students.”
Ms. Brady’s free time is spent knitting, reading, taking long walks, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and occasionally getting involved in local theater. An interesting fact about Ms. Brady is that she plays the trombone and the euphonium. She says, “I'm so excited to be joining the McGraw community!”
